Carbs Are Not the Enemy!

At some point, carbs got a bad reputation. They were blamed for weight gain, bloating, and just about every diet “failure” under the sun.

You’ve probably heard it:

“Cut carbs if you want to lose weight.”

“Carbs make you fat.”

“Bread is evil.”

Let’s take a breath.

Because here’s the truth: carbohydrates are not your enemy. They’re one of your body’s favourite sources of energy. And for people who train, move, and live active lives—they’re essential.

Carbs fuel your workouts, your brain, and your mood. They’re the reason you feel energised during class, focused during meetings, and capable of pushing through a tough day.

In fact, cutting carbs too much can leave you feeling tired, foggy, irritable, and craving all the snacks by 4pm. Sound familiar?

The key isn’t to cut carbs—it’s to choose them wisely. Whole carbs like oats, rice, fruit, veg, and legumes? Great. Processed junk 24/7? Not so great.

But even that slice of cake or plate of pasta? It’s not sabotage. It’s called being human.

So next time someone tells you to ditch the carbs, smile and walk away (maybe while holding a sandwich).

Because carbs don’t ruin your progress. Confusion does.
